GIANT BIKE DEMO

Urban Bicycle Gallery is excited to be working with Giant to bring the world's best bicycles to Houston for you to Demo. Come join us for a great time! Look for the Ride Giant Tour rig -a Giant blue trailer, big blue tents that say "Ride Life Ride Giant" and LOTS of bikes for you to ride! Come on up, say "hello" and then check out a Giant bicycle, and Ride Life Ride Giant. To demo a bike, here's all you need to bring with you: (1) a valid driver's license, (2) a bicycle helmet, (3) your own pedals if you want to ride something other than platform pedals, and (4) your signature on the Ride Giant Tour waiver form. John Vancas will be there to help you get set up for a test ride.

Look for the Urban Bicycle Gallery Tent; Brad will give the first 50 riders that visit our tent a UBG water bottle.

MS150 2008

Well here we go again. This is our fifth year riding the MS150 with the UBG Cycling Club. We have come a long way since that first year when we rented a tent in the tent city at the fairgrounds with about 45 riders. This year we are over 80 riders strong, have one of the coolest team jerseys out there and are once again blessed with an overnight stay at a private ranch that is more pleasant and comfortable than any other team's accommodations.

We have many riders who have ridden with us year after year getting stronger and faster. However as everyone on our team knows, we are not about speed as much as we are about camaraderie and positive social interaction. We have made some very good friends over the years. Some romances have even begun due to chance meetings on our training rides.

I wish everyone a great weekend of safe riding and good times to remember. I can't wait to see you all at the start. Look for our team jersey and most of us will be riding ORBEAS.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TRIP

The weekend after the MS some of us are driving up to Waco to ride mountain bikes at one of the state's best trails - Cameron Park. So far here is the roster: Tom, Brad, John Vancas, Darrel Daik, Mark the cop, Jackson Vaughan, Tom's brother Matt, David Goodman and whoever else wants to participate in a fantastic mountain bike riding experience. We are driving up at 6am from the store arriving a bit before 10am; riding till the afternoon then driving back home .We should be back in Houston by 7pm. Cameron Park is a terrific trail system with many miles of intersecting loops along the Brazos River. It features rocky cliffs with steep climbs and descents. It is very challenging and completely unlike anything that exists anywhere near Houston. So join us for a killer ride while you are still in good shape from the MS training and before it gets any hotter.
