Nutrition

Bring energy gels with you on grueling rides because it’s easier to slam a GU when your rolling down the road short of breath than it is to chew a dense/chewy energy bar. Use your energy bars for rest stops when you’re trying to fuel up but also have that hunger for solid food.

Make sure to drink plenty of fluids while riding. Energy drinks replace electrolytes that water can’t replace. Put your energy drink in a water bottle and carry it in a bottle cage on your bike. Camelbacks are great for longer rides.  Use them for water only, they are harder to clean.

SAFETY TIPS

This is the proper hand signal for slowing.   This is the universal hand signal for "Hi Ya!"

These kids all grew up to be criminals thirty years later except the dark haired one who now owns a bike shop.   Never allow a dog in your paceline.

Never ride this close to an Opel Cadet.
See what happens?
  Never ride wheelies two abreast.

This is not proper motor pacing.   Never ride two on a bike unless one is a chick.
