We've completely re-engineered our entry-level vest. We call it the Pioggia shoe cover, and although the name is Italian for rain, that doesn’t really capture the essence of this bootie. The creation of this product started with a list of the things we wanted to fix about winter gloves: we wanted to make a glove that's warm without being bulky, is easy to get on and off, is mostly waterproof without having it suck in dry weather due to low breathability, and is super comfortable. We innovated everything on this glove, starting with the base fabrics: we've used a stretch water-resistant windproof outer shell over PrimaLoft Gold insulation to make it warm, and an insanely soft inner liner that happens to slide easily over even a sweaty hand for easy on/off. But you always debate whether you're willing to compromise comfort for that look, and you end up wearing Lycra®. So we set out to make a better baggy. We reached for a stretch woven fabric that gives great stretch but in an unbelievably lightweight yet durable fabric. We gave it a DWR finish so mud and water roll-off. We gave the short two top-opening pockets like jeans so that whatever you put in there won't fall out. We made the cut fairly close to the body so you look good off the bike but the short doesn't balloon out when you're on the bike. It all just kinda disappears. The short doesn't have its own seat pad, so wear this over your favorite Castelli short. The Superleggera is a good choice for warmer weather, or the Unlimited if you want the extra pockets.

This baggy short is made for hard trail duty when you want the look of a baggy but the freedom of lycra. The fabric is extremely light, just 165 grams per square meter, but hard wearing thanks to 64% Cordura yarns. The 10% elastane gives it four-way stretch. Not only does it dry quickly, but the water-repellent fabric treatment means it sheds light rain and stays cleaner. The cut is slightly looser so it moves with you, never restricting. Yet the adjustable webbing belt at the waist lets you lock it in place so it won't slide down. With the ultimate trail short you should never feel too hot, so you can open up the zippered ventilation openings that run the full length of the legs, made to work with the mesh legs of the Castelli unlimited ultimate liner. The ideal tight for most of your winter riding, the Velocissimo is focused on comfort for riding in mild to cool conditions. We've used our Thermoflex fabric for most of the tight. It's not our warmest fabric, nor does it repel water like Nano Flex, but it is the softest, stretchiest winter tight fabric. The comfort is immediate and lasting. For the lower leg from just below the knee, we switch to our Nano Flex fleeced stretch-woven fabric that's both warm and highly water repellent for protection against spray coming off wet roads. It's also highly stretchy, and we leave a raw edge so we can construct the ankles without zippers while making sure the tight remains easy to put on and take off.
