That's a big claim, but there's a lot of development in this short to back it up. So let's take a tour of the short. The first thing you might notice is what's missing: the seams and multiple panels. We engineered a new fabric that changes depending on the needs over various parts of the body. The lower leg has a raw-cut leg ending and rubberized yarns to guarantee a flat grip to keep the leg in place. The fabric becomes lighter in the thigh, while the four-way stretch provides just the right amount of muscle support. In the pelvis area, the compression and support increase to keep the seat pad and everything else in place, and the fabric gets thicker to avoid any embarrassing transparency issues. With this magical fabric we don't need to stitch separate panels together, which ensures more comfort and a better fit, as well as a sleek, sophisticated look. The premium fabrics extend into the bib straps. The perforated back keeps you cool and the edge is bonded so you don't feel the thickness of a stitched edge. The elastic straps have just enough modulus (return) to hold your shorts securely in place without cutting in to your shoulders. The seat pad is our top-of-the-line Progetto X2 Air Seamless pad. We reached for a stretch woven fabric that gives great stretch but in an unbelievably lightweight yet durable fabric. We gave it a DWR finish so mud and water roll-off. We gave the short two top-opening pockets like jeans so that whatever you put in there won't fall out. We made the cut fairly close to the body so you look good off the bike but the short doesn't balloon out when you're on the bike. It all just kinda disappears. The short doesn't have its own seat pad, so wear this over your favorite Castelli short. The Superleggera is a good choice for warmer weather, or the Unlimited if you want the extra pockets.

This baggy short is made for hard trail duty when you want the look of a baggy but the freedom of lycra. The fabric is extremely light, just 165 grams per square meter, but hard wearing thanks to 64% Cordura yarns. The 10% elastane gives it four-way stretch. Not only does it dry quickly, but the water-repellent fabric treatment means it sheds light rain and stays cleaner. The cut is slightly looser so it moves with you, never restricting. Yet the adjustable webbing belt at the waist lets you lock it in place so it won't slide down. The ideal tight for most of your winter riding, the Velocissimo is focused on comfort for riding in mild to cool conditions. We've used our Thermoflex fabric for most of the tight. It's not our warmest fabric, nor does it repel water like Nano Flex, but it is the softest, stretchiest winter tight fabric. The comfort is immediate and lasting. For the lower leg from just below the knee, we switch to our Nano Flex fleeced stretch-woven fabric that's both warm and highly water repellent for protection against spray coming off wet roads. It's also highly stretchy, and we leave a raw edge so we can construct the ankles without zippers while making sure the tight remains easy to put on and take off. A new addition to the DYORA Racing Series, the R S11 combines race-tuned compression and aircooling breathability with a simpler construction than advanced models like the RSV S11. The raw-cut cuffs, low-volume silicone grip, and lightweight, compressive Type.911 textile are hallmarks of premium ASSOS racing technology, but the bib straps have been simplified for pure racing utility. The DYORA R S11 Insert is a race-tuned platform with updated shaping to better support aggressive riding positions. Despite the redesign, the goldenGate 2.0 construction returns, ensuring the insert moves with you to eliminate friction during high-intensity riding.

The critical updates to the new EQUIPE RS shorts are a new textile and a new insert. The new textile, Type.911, allowed us to completely reengineer the cut, reducing the seam count and wrinkles while micro-adjusting fit across the legs and waist. It also let us eliminate the rollBar bib strap design, because Type.911 is more elastic and more compressive than the Type.441 used on the previous generation. Rather than merely suspended from bib straps, the S11 shorts envelope the rider’s body in omnidirectional, body-mapped stability. The new RS S11 insert’s top sheet is both softer against the body and more durable for washing, and it has an improved odor control treatment while maintaining its predecessor’s cooling airflow, micro-shock damping, and low-volume, lightweight profile.

These shorts are built for cyclists committed to the racing and training program, regardless of falling temperatures. BEHIND THE PRODUCT These bib shorts are appropriate for cooler temperatures that don’t yet warrant knee or full-leg coverage. The thermal insulation is reinforced with inclusions (the twinDeck construction on the crotch panel) and omissions (we left out the kraterCooler chamois ventilation in that same panel) designed to preserve core warmth without providing too much coverage. The balance of warmth and breathability recommend these shorts for tempo efforts and base miles in cool temperatures, and the addition of warmers—secured with the shorts’ Ultralight Leg Grippers—lets them follow the mercury still further down the thermometer.

The new construction increases vertical stabilization and allows a less restrictive waist construction. The butterfly-wrap paneling returns for S11, enveloping your muscles in micro-adjusted, fatigue-reducing compression that balances long-distance comfort with competitive aerodynamics. Updated for S11, the latest GTS insert radically increases cooling airflow, and the dual-layer 13mm construction adds 4mm of targeted support to the 9mm base of microshock-absorbing foam.
